Car Wash (Acrylic)
Car Wash (Acrylic)
On August 23, 1951, at the age of 24, Doak Walker opened the Doak Walker Sports Center, located in Dallas, TX. Around this same time, Doak’s name was being used in association with all other sorts of promotions, products and businesses. This included Doak’s name over a Gulf station, which he and former Mustangs teammate Raleigh Blakely owned, located on Hillcrest across from the SMU campus. Doak, the winner of the 1948 Heisman Trophy, could be caught washing a car or two.
